The itinerary of this trip could be made as follows: You travel from Lima to Acobamba, after to Huancavelica, after to Lircay, and at the end to Huancavelica again, then You return to Lima.

Features of Routes and Transport

Route Lima – Huancavelica

The route can be made of 2 ways, the first is by Huancayo and the second is by Pisco.

(1) Lima – Huancavelica ( by Huancayo )

This road usually takes between 11 and 13 hours, It is asphalted until Izcuchaca, after It is unpaved. There is one altitude pass along the road, the pass of Anticona ( Ticlio ) ( 4818 masl ) between Matucana and La Oroya.

The route can be made directly, the transport is performed by buses, these buses depart and return from Lima to Huancavelica daily in the afternoons between 5 pm and 7 pm. The transport companies that go over this road are: Lobato, Antezana, Libertadores, Molina, Huancavelica, Oropesa, among others.

(2) Lima – Huancavelica ( by Pisco )

This road usually takes between 14 and 15  hours, ( without considering the stop in San Clemente ), It is asphalted until Pampano, after It is unpaved. There is one altitude pass along the road, the pass of Chonta ( 4800 masl ) between Castrovirreyna and Huancavelica.

The route can be made in 2 segments, the first from Lima to San Clemente ( 3 hours ) and the second from San Clemente to Huancavelica ( 11 to 12  hours ).

In the first segment from Lima to San Clemente the transport is performed by buses, these buses depart and return from Lima to San Clemente constantly. The transport companies that go over this road are: Soyus, Flores, among others.

In the second segment from San Clemente to Huancavelica the transport is performed by buses, You must take in San Clemente the buses that depart from Ica to Huancavelica daily in the afternoons at 5 pm, getting to San Clemente in the afternoons at 6 pm and return in the afternoons, getting to San Clemente in the nights. The transport companies that go over this road are: Oropesa, among others.

Route Lima – Acobamba

This route usually takes between 14 and 16 hours. It is asphalted until Izcuchaca, after It is unpaved. There are 2 altitude passes along the road, the pass of Anticona ( Ticlio ) ( 4818 masl ) between Matucana and La Oroya and a pass between Izcuchaca and Paucara.

Route Huancavelica – Acobamba

This unpaved road usually takes between 4 and 6 hours. There is one altitude pass along the road, a pass between Huancavelica and Acobamba.

The route can be made directly, the transport is performed by combis, these combis depart and return from Huancavelica to Acobamba daily in the mornings.

Route Huancavelica – Angaraes ( Lircay )

This unpaved road usually takes 3 hours. There is one altitude pass along the road, a pass ( 4300 masl ) between Huancavelica and Lircay.

The route can be made directly, the transport is performed by cars, these cars depart and return from Huancavelica to Lircay constantly.
